Taliban insurgents attacked Baghlan-Mazar highway on Tuesday night, clashes are still ongoing along the road, according to local security officials.

Afghan Voice Agency(AVA), The Taliban insurgents attacked Baghlan-Mazar highway on Tuesday night and closed the highway to traffic, security forces confirmed.

The officials said the attack started at about 10pm local time after insurgents stormed the highway. Clashes between security forces and insurgents are still ongoing.

Dozens of motorists are stuck along the highway, and are waiting for the road to reopen, according to sources.

There are no reports on casualties as yet.
