Ahadi Urges NUG Leaders to Step Down

Following a massive bombing and anti-government demonstrations in Kabul, opposition leader Anwar ul-Haq Ahadi on Sunday urged the National Unity Government (NUG) leaders to resign from their positions.


AVA_ “The National Front calls on the government to confess its incapability and announce readiness for resignation,” speaking in a news conference, the Chairman of the New National Front of Afghanistan, Anwar ul-Haq Ahadi said.

Blaming the government for deteriorating security situation, Ahadi claims the government has no plan to improve security and bring reforms.

He added,” what the President promised yesterday regarding reforms in security sector was just a demagogue”.

The politician also announced its support for Friday’s demonstration in Kabul against the government leaders, said: “We condemn the government use of force and firing against the protesters and asking the trail of the perpetrators”.

This comes as thousands of people on Friday staged a protest after a massive suicide bombing that killed at least ۹۰ and wounded more than ۴۰۰ people in Kabul.

While at least ۶ protesters killed and more than ۲۰ wounded in police firing, the demonstrators still demanding President Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah to leave the office and bring reforms in security institutions.

The New National Front of Afghanistan was formed as an opposition party on Jan ۲۰۱۶ claiming that the government has failed in all areas. The party stresses that elections should be held as soon as possible to replace the current government.
