Afghan official sacked for acting against youths with 'un-Islamic' hairstyles

An Afghan official has been dismissed for acting against youths with "un-Islamic" hairstyles.


AVA_ Muhammad Arif Wazin in a 1TV report was seen shortening hairs of the youths as the head of promotion unit of directorate of hajj and religious affairs in northern Balkh province.

“They had kept such a style where sides had less hair while the top had more,” Wazin said in the report. “We just cut the long part and we didn’t shave.”

While some criticized the action, Wazin defended saying keeping such styles (Qaza) in an Islamic country is against Islamic values.

Apart from this, Wazin also helped arrest of people who allegedly facilitated eating or drinking during fasting period.
