Taliban Kills 40 Civilians in Sar-e-Pul: Governor
The Taliban insurgents have shot and killed 40 civilians including children and women in northern Sar-e-Pul province, the Provincial Governor said Sunday.

AVA- According to Sar-e-Pul Governor, Mohammad Zahir Wahdat, the incident happened on Saturday morning in Mirza Awlang area of Sayad district, following a coordinated attack by the Taliban in the district.

The Provincial Council Chief, Mohammad Nor Rahmani urged the government to launched “air and ground” operation led by  “Afghan commandos” in Mirza Awlang area of Sayad district.

Meanwhile, a local source on condition of anonymity told Ariana News that that at least 67 people were killed in the clashes in the district.

The source added that currently, as many as 1000 Daesh and the Taliban insurgents are engaged in checking residential houses in Mirza Awlang area of Sayad district.

According to the local officials, the ongoing battle is  seven kilometers away from the center of the district.
