Players from Afghanistan have qualified for the finals of U-14 Subroto Cup, a famous inter-school football tournament in India.

AVA- The Afghan team from Kabul’s Istiqlal high school secured a place in the finals after beating Mizoram 5-4 in the semi-final on penalties on Sunday.

The scorers for Afghanistan were Ali, Farid, Mahdi, Qayam and Baktash.

They will face Chandigarh in the final game due to be played on Wednesday at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi.

The 58th edition of Subroto Cup draws teams from 99 schools for three categories – Sub-junior boys (U-14), Junior Boys (U-17) and Junior Girls (U-17).
