Families of fallen Afghan soldiers to get homes in new township in Kabul
The construction work of at least one thousand housing units was formally inaugurated in Kabul city with the support of a Qatari prince who will invest jointly invest in the construction of the township.

AVA- The Office of the President, ARG Palace, said the township will be built for the families of the fallen Afghan soldiers.

The Minister of Urban Development and Housing Syed Sadat Mansoor inaugurated the construction of the township during a ceremony in Kabul today.

Speaking during the gathering on the occassion of the inaugural ceremony, minister Naderi said the township will be built in cooperation with the Qatari prince Sheikh Ali.

He said the township will be built on a land located to close to Silo Enterprise, belonging to the Milli Bus Enterprise.

According to Minister Naderi, around $100 million have been pledged for the project with prince Ali agreeing to invest the amount jointly with the Afghan government.

Minister Naderi further added that the initial talks regarding the construction of the township started in around 1394 Afghan Calendar year and as a result of the negotiations prince Ali agreed with an investment of $100 million.

He said an agreement was also signed between the ministry of urban development and housing and the Al-Gharafa Foundation led by prince Ali.

According to Minister Naderi, the township includes construction of 12 blocks with each consisting of 14 stories.

Minister Naderi also added that the township will also include a mosque, school, kindergarten, and a compound for the trading activities.
