Afghan cricket captain hospitalized in Zimbabwe for appendicitis
The Afghan National cricket team captain Asghar Stanikzai has been hospitalized in Zimbabwe for appendicitis.
AVA- The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) citing the doctors has reported that Stanikzai will undergo a surgery today.

The doctors have also said that Stanikzai will be able to return to cricket in approximately ten days.

ACB also added that Rashid Khan will lead the team in the absence of Asghar Stanikzai.

This comes as the Afghan National cricket team will face West Indies in the first match of ICC World Cup Qualifiers Warm-up matches on Tuesday.

The match is due to be played in Harare of Zimbabwe with the Afghan team expected to play two matches as part of the Warm-up matches.

The second match is due to be played in Harare as well against the Netherlands cricket team.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) spokesman Farid Hotak said the Afghan team is in Zimbabwe for the matches.

He said the national team players are busy in practice matches now.

The Afghanistan National cricket team is expected to play the first match in ICC World Cup Qualifiers against Scotland on 4th March.
