The national cricket team of Zimbabwe managed to seal victory in their home ground in Bulawayo with a difference of two runs.
Zimbabwe won the toss in yesterday’s game and elected to bat first but the Afghan bowlers played well and restricted the Zimbabwe batsmen to 196 runs only.
Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman once again performed well on the bowling side and each took three wickets while Dawlat Zadran took two wickets with Mohammad Nabi one wicket.
However, on the batting side the Afghan team once again failed to perform well and despite major contribution by the middle order batsmen, the Afghan team failed to chase the given target.
Afghanistan once again lost its main opening batman Ihsanullah during the initial minutes of the game while Mohamad Shahzad managed to score 24 runs only.
Rahmat Shah and Mohammad Nabi played well in the middle order and each scored 69 and 51 runs but the remaining batsmen could not play well.
This was the second loss of the Afghan team in ICC World Cup Qualifiers after they were defeated in their opening match by Scotland on Sunday.
