Dozens of weapons stolen from police armory in Kabul

As many as 70 weapons have been stolen from a police armory in Kabul, security sources told 1TV on Monday.


AVA- The weapons include mostly pistols. Three night-goggles are also missing from the armory.
Several people have been arrested in connection with the stealing, according to sources.
The Interior Ministry declined our request for comment, however, an official from the ministry confirmed the matter adding an investigation was underway.
Corruption is a major problem in security sector of the country.
Commenting on recent report of stealing of weapons, an expert said that it shows weakness of intelligence of the country.
This comes as Pakistani media have reported that the country’s forces seized 20 snipers being smuggled from Afghanistan.
