Addressing a conference entitled “the Fourth Global Convention of Solidarity with Palestine” that was held in Beirut, Sheikh Naim Qassem deplored the international system as “cruel” and said it only serves the interests of the world’s major powers.
“Armed resistance is the only way to free Palestine in the first place,” the ceric said, adding that other types of resistance could be considered after that.
“We will not replace the armed resistance with any other kind of resistance until the enemy gives in…,” the Hezbollah official noted.
On February 23, the Trump administration said the US embassy in Quds (Jerusalem) will open on May 14 in order to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the Zionist regime of Israel’s self-proclaimed independence.
It came following Trump’s move in December 2017 to recognize Quds as Zionist regime’s capital, which drew widespread international condemnation and sparked protests in the Palestinian territories.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has described the US controversial move as a sign of “weakness and incompetence”, saying, “The Islamic world will definitely stand against this plot and the Zionists will receive a bigger blow.”
“Dear Palestine will be undoubtedly liberated at last,” the Leader said recently, stressing that the issue of Palestine is the paramount political subject in the Muslim world.
