Afghan government approves two new contracts worth $331 million
The Afghan government has approved two new contracts worth around $331 million during the latest meeting of the National Procurement Commission.
AVA- The Office of the President, ARG Palace, said the meeting was held in ARG Presidential Palace on Sunday and was chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
The contracts approved during the meeting include procurement of diesel, petrol, gas, and other lubricants for the Ministry of Higher Education and contract for 20 Gig internet  service with Explore Tec of Kyrgyzstan.
A statement by ARG Palace states that the meeting also reviewed the report presented by National Procurement Administration officials regarding the preliminary situation of the domestic production companies which was welcomed by the commission members.
President Ghani instructed that detailed discussions should be made regarding the list of the domestic companies which has been prepared by the National Procurement Administration based on seven zones.
According to ARG Palace, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah, Finance Minister Iklil Hakimi, senior presidential adviser for infrastructure, members of the Integrity Watch Afghanistan, SIGAR, NATO Resolute Support Mission, and members of the Parliamentary and Senate Commissions for Finance, Budget, and Economy had also participated in the meeting.
