Afghanistan defeats Cambodia 2-1 in AFC Qualifier match
The Afghanistan national football team defeated Cambodia 2-1 in the qualifier match of the Asian Football Confederation match organized in neighboring Tajikistan.
AVA- The Afghan team managed to end the first half of the game in their favor 2-0 with Jabar Sharza scoring both the goals during the 26th and 45th minutes of the game.
The Cambodian footballers managed to hit their first goal during the 69th minute in the second half of the game.
This comes as the Afghan football team captain Faisal Shaista had earlier said that the Afghan team is fully prepared for the football friendly against Cambodia.
Speaking in a press conference in Tajikistan on Monday, Shaista said the game against Cambodia will bring good news for the lovers of football in Afghanistan.
The game ended in Afghanistan’s favor after three minutes of additional time was given by the match referee when the 90 minute game ended 2-1 in Afghanistan’s favor.
The Afghan team could not score more goals despite having more chances in the second half of the game.
Despite today’s major victory against Cambodia, the Afghan team is not eligible to find way into the Asian games due to the poor performances of Afghanistan in the qualifier matches.
