Afghan athlete wins Gold medal in US Paralympic Games
An Afghan swimming athlete Abbas Karimi has won a gold medal during a competition in Paralympic Games in the United States of America.
AVA- The head of the Swimming Federation of Afghanistan Qasim Hamidi said Mr. Karimi managed to secure the first position during a competition on Friday.
Hamidi further added that Karimi had participated in 50-meter crawl back competition and managed to secure first place to win the godl medal.
He also added that Karimi will be participate in another competition on Saturday to compete for a 100-meter distance competition.
Karimi is a prominent Afghan paralympic swimming athlete who started his career while he was only 14-year-old.
Currently residing in the United States, Karimi has managed to win medals in several international competitions in Afghanistan, Turkey, and the United States.
He managed to win two gold medals during a competition organized in the United States last year by winning first positions among the athletes from 18 countries.
