IEC officials among 3 wounded in Ghazni blast
Three people, including a woman employee of the Independent Election Commission (IEC), were wounded as a result of an explosion near a voter registration centre in southern Ghazni province on Thursday.
An official at the provincial police headquarters, who wished to go unnamed, told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast occurred in the Maghlan locality of Ghazni City, the provincial capital, at around 10:00am.
At least three people were injured in the attack, the official said, without providing further details. The IEC authorities said two of their employees were wounded in the bomb blast, including a woman.
Civil Hospital Director Dr. Baz Mohammad Himmat confirmed receiving three wounded people. He said the injured included a policeman and two IEC employees.
An eyewitness, Shahidullah, said the voter registration centre was yet to open when the blast occurred. He had no more information about the incident.
