Afghanistan starts work on Phase-I of the major Administrative Complex in Kabul
The construction of the first phase of the major Administrative Complex kicked off in Dar-ul-Aman area of Kabul city in the presence of senior government officials.
The Minister of Urban Development and Housing Syed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, Kabul governor Mohammad Yaqoob Haidari, the head of the Independent Land Authority Mohammad Jawad Paikar and some other high level government dignitaries.
In his speech during the inauguration of the first phase of the Administrative Complex, Minister Naderi said the construction of the complex one of the major dreams of King Amanullah Khan.
He said the government has decided to shift almost all government ministries and institutions to the new complex once the construction work of the complex concludes.
According to Minister Naderi, the new complex is being built with an aim to bring the key government institutions into one place, ensure better security of the institutions, reduce congestion in the city, and pave the way for the on time delivery of services.
The Minister of Urban Development and Housing also added that almost all ministries and government institutions will be shifted to the new complex, emphasizing that the relocation will be done based on a proper plan.
The head of the Administrative Complex Ahmad Shakib Rafehi sadi the master plan of the complex has been designed to cover an area of around 100 hectares which will be completed in two phases.
Rafehi further added that the work on the first phase or the foundation of the complex has started today.
According to Rafehi, the complex has been designed to house 18 ministries, 10 independent directorates and three banks.
