Afghan forces to receive 50 helicopters from NATO in near future: Ghani
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani says the Afghan armed forces will receive 50 helicopters from NATO in the near future.
Speaking to the officers and personnel of the 205th Atal Corps in Kandahar, President Ghani said the NATO-led Resolute Support will deliver 50 new helicopters to the Afghan armed forces in the near future and the other problems will also be resolved.
He also listened to the information and recommendation shared by the 205th Atal Corps and thanked them for their sacrifices while insisting on the justified efforts of the Afghan armed forces.
President Ghani also hailed the Afghan Air Force personnel for their efforts and issued necessary instructions for the promotion of the soldiers, sergeants, and officers.
In other parts of his speech, President Ghani thanked the personnel of the 205th Atal Corps for their justified demands to equip and strengthen the Afghan armed forces as he emphasized that such demands are not personal but aimed at the bolstering the capabilities of the armed forces.
This comes as efforts are underway by the Afghan government and the international partners of Afghanistan to bolster the capabilities of the Afghan armed forces, specifically the Afghan Air Force.
The NATO-led Resolute Support Mission officials are saying that the size of the Afghan Air Force will triple in size in the next five years.
