Defense Minister Gen. Tariq Shah Bahrami introduced Gen. Murad as the new commander of Kabul Garrison Command during a ceremony in Kabul today.
He said Gen. Murad has been appointed as the new commander of Kabul Garrison Command and deputy defense minister for the security affairs of capital Kabul.
This comes as the ministry of interior officials last month announced that Gen. Murad had been dismissed as the senior deputy interior minister for security.
Deputy spokesman for the ministry of interior Nusrat Rahimi had confirmed that Gen. Murad has been appointed as the new commander of Kabul Garrison Command.
Earlier, reports had emerged that Gen. Murad has been dismissed from his post as the senior deputy interior minister for security following a suicide attack in Kabul.
The attack in western part of Kabul city had targeted a center which operated for the distribution of electronic national identity cards.
