Gaza: Hundreds of Palestinians, Including Minors, Wounded by Zionist Forces
At least 200 unarmed Palestinian protesters have been wounded by Zionist troops in the besieged Gaza Strip along the border separating the impoverished enclave and the occupied territories.
AVA- 206 demonstrators, including at least eight minors, sustained injuries as a result of inhaling tear gas fired by Zionist soldiers in the blockaded sliver on Friday, according to a report by the Gaza Ministry of Health, Middle East News reported.
Zionist forces fired large quantities of tear gas canisters and live bullets east of Gaza City to disperse some 7,000 Palestinians who were rallying for what had been officially designated as “Friday of the Wounded”, paying tribute to those who have been wounded since the beginning of the Great March of Return rallies, according to reports.
Since weekly mass rallies began along the Zionist-Gaza border in late March, at least 140 Palestinians have been killed and 14,000 others wounded by Zion army fire. The overwhelming majority of the dead and wounded have been unarmed, according to Gaza health officials. Two Palestinian journalists were killed while covering the protests in April and two medics including a 21-year-old were also shot dead in May and early June.
The Amnesty International has also stressed that the attacks on Palestinian protesters by Zionist forces in the Gaza Strip are “willful killings constituting war crimes", while the UN Human Rights Council has also decided to urgently dispatch an independent, international commission of inquiry to investigate all alleged violations and abuses which may amount to war crimes in the occupied Gaza Strip.
The violence was condemned by rights groups and most UN Security Council members, with even the US’ closest allies refusing to stand by Washington’s support for Tel Aviv.
