Head of Kabul Ulema Council, Abdul Basir Haqqani, was shot dead in the city on Saturday.

Haqqani, whohad outspoken stance against the insurgents,was killed by two gunmen on motorcycle in Police District 7 of the city, the source said.
The attackers fled after the assassination.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
