The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said that 76 new cases of Coronavirus were reported in Afghanistan in the past 24 hours, taking the tally to 35,070 cases.

The government managed to test 418 samples across the country – comparatively low, considering the private sector has also been authorized to conduct the screenings.
The MoPH said new cases were reported in the provinces of Herat (16), Farah (10), Badghis (8), Balkh (7), Kabul (5), Daykundi (5), Baghlan (4), Ghazni (4), Kunduz (4), Kandahar (3), Bamyan (2), Takhar (2), Badakhshan (2), Kunar (2), Helmand (1) and Panjshir (1).
In the past day, 425 people have recovered and those numbers are now at 22,881 recovered cases.
There were 21 people who succumbed to the virus, pushing the fatalities to 1,115.
Far from home 
Foreign military contractors stuck at the Bagram Airfield have complained that due to border closures, they have been unable to return home.
One of the companies, Fluor, said it had managed to repatriate almost 200 of its employees by Wednesday.
However, a Kenyan contractor told Stars and Stripes that at least 19 more people were stuck at the base.
“We are depressed, we can’t call our families [who] are suffering back home, we are the ones who provide for them,” another Kenyan contractor told the publication.
Officials have begun conducting welfare checks and are trying to improve conditions for the contractors stuck on the bases, Pentagon spokesperson Lisa Lawrence said.
