No way but to fight corruption to boost the Afghan future
President Hamid Karzai should act seriously against corruption in order to provide a better life for Afghan people, the country's anti-corruption head said Saturday.

Head of High Office of Oversight and Anti Corruption Azizullah Lodin said in an exclusive interview with Tolonews that he hopes Karzai will stand by his promise to fight corruption seriously.

"I am sure that as President Karzai says, he will not allow land grabbing any more, he will not allow bribery any more. I hope he's serious about his statements," Lodin said, adding that Karzai's commitments could reform the system, and improve the living situation for the people of Afghanistan.

He also called for Karzai to establish more cooperation between the anti-corruption department, the Attorney General's office, and the judiciary.

"My demand for President Karzai is clear: to establish cooperation between us, the Attorney General and the judiciary organs. If this happens I am sure we can prevent corruption," Lodin said.
He also emphasized that to combat corruption effectively, the government needed further reforms to its structure. (Tolo News)
