According to local authorities in western Farah province, an explosion took place in front of the provincial governor compound on Saturday.
A local security official speaking on the condition of anonymity said at least 3 missiles were also fired on the governor’s compound.
The source did not disclose further information regarding the casualties as a result of the incident however he said there fears of civilians casualties.
In the meantime provincial governor spokesman Abdul Rahman Zhwandai said a number of civilians were injured and an Afghan woman was killed following the incident.
Mr. Zhwandai further added one of the missiles hit the main entry gate where a large number of visitors had gathered.
He said according to preliminary reports at least 20 people were injured and four individuals were in a critical condition.
He also said Afghan police forces managed to discover and seized a motorcycle packed with explosives from the parking lot of the governor compound.
No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
