Afghanistan and Azerbaijan Working Group for ICT cooperation discussed to establish Afghan e-government
Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Afghanistan Baryalay Hassam is paying a visit to Azerbaijan to attend the 1st meeting of Working Group for ICT cooperation between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan.

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology told APA that the goal of the meeting held on August 29 - September 2 is to discuss the opportunities of Azerbaijan’s participation in the development of ICT in Afghanistan, determine current requirements and main directions of Afghanistan in ICT sphere and discus predicted projects in Afghanistan.

On August 30, the first meeting of Azerbaijan-Afghanistan working group was held at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology as a part of the project “The establishment of e-government in Afghanistan. Discussions on extension of cooperation between the two countries were held, current requirements of Afghanistan in ICT sphere were studied and signed a joint protocol.”

During the visit, the Afghan delegation met with Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Azerbaijan Elmir Valizadeh, Director of AIDA Agency Ashraf Shikhaliyev and UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Azerbaijan Nato Alhazishvili.
