Four police officers have been killed and one wounded as a result of firing in their check-post in southern Helmand province, an official said on Saturday.

Afghan Voice Agency(AVA), Provincial police chief Maj. Gen. Aqa Noor Kentooz, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Srah Godar area of Lashkargah, the provincial capital, late on Friday night.
10 policemen had been stationed in the check-post some were on vocation, he added.
According to Ketnoz, it could not be made clear, how and who fired at policemen. He doubted a guest might have come to the post and opened firing of policemen.
Militants have not spoken about the incident.
