Slovakia to send six soldiers to ISAF operation in Afghanistan
The Slovak government is planning to send six more soldiers to Afghanistan, as supporting the Slovak presence in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission was approved by the government..

The soldiers who will be sent to Afghanistan are part of the Deployable Communications and Information System Module Unit (DCM-C), as a part of NATO structures.

NATO requested such a unit for assistance in the communications and information system services, supporting the ISAF, costing the Ministry of Defence 197,823 euros (about 271,071 U.S. dollars), reported the Slovak Republic News Agency TASR.

According to the report, about 87,000 soldiers and experts from 49 countries are stationed in Afghanistan within the ISAF mission, which is at its final stage preparing the Afghan National Army and the Afghan police to take over the country's security by the end of 2014. A total of 291 Slovak soldiers are currently taking part in the mission.(Xinhua)
