Taliban rejects killing Turkmenistan border guards
Taliban militants group in Afghanistan rejected reports regarding the Taliban militants attack on Turkmenistan border guards.

Local officials in western Badghis province of Afghanistan said that a group of Taliban militants attacked and killed three border guards belonging to Turkmenistan late Wednesday night.

However, the Taliban group in Afghanistan rejected the group’s involvement behind the attack and said the government officials are looking to achieve their malicious objective by blaming the attack on Taliban group.

“Taliban strongly condemns this harmful incident and categorically rejects its involvement in such detrimental and irresponsible actions while it also extends its condolences to Turkmenistan and the family members of the said police officers,” Taliban said following a statement.

The statement further added, “It must be mentioned that the Taliban wants cordial relations in the framework of mutual respect with its neighboring and regional countries as well as the international community.”

This comes as local officials blamed Taliban group leaders Mullah Abdullah and Ahmad for entering the territory of Turkmenistan and killing of three Turkmenistan border guards.

Turkmenistan consulate officials in western Afghanistan also confirmed that three of their border guards were killed following militants attack.
