Abdullah reacts harshly to Hekmatyar
Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on Monday reacted harshly to comments from Hizb-i-Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar about late anti-Soviet commander Ahmad Shah Massoud.

AVA- In a meeting with his supporters two days ago, Hekmatyar accused Massoud of having links with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. He also cited Taliban criticizing peace council leadership, which was held by Burhanuddin Rabbani before his killing.

In an apparent reference to the comments, Abdullah called the remarks ‘obsessive’.

“Those who set allegation-making and alteration of history as a tool for popularity will get to nowhere,” Abdullah said chairing the regular ministerial council meeting. “People will reject those who make division-creating remarks.”

In his reaction, Balkh governor Ata Mohammad Noor said that Hekmatyar’s recent comments showed that he sets his interests and objections basedgeographical and color discrimination.

He said that the comments unveil “obsession and internal impurity of such people.”
