Two killed, seven injured in Laghman explosions
At least two people were killed while seven more wounded in back-to-back explosions in Afghanistan's eastern Laghman province on Monday, officials said.

AVA- The explosions, triggered by bombs, happened in the provincial capital city, Mehtarlam.

The two dead included a civilian and a member of security personnel. The injured were all children whose injuries were not life-threatening, the provincial governor’s office said in a statement.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blasts.

In a separate incident, Taliban militants attacked a police checkpoint in Abkamari district of north-western Badghis province, killing a policeman and injuring two members of local uprising force.

Abdul Raouf Taj, the provincial police chief, said that the fled the area following the overnight attack.

Meanwhile, sources said that the police chief of Abkamari district, Ghulam Rasool, was killed after a rocket hit his car.
