9 rebels killed in Herat clash
Nine militants have been killed and six others injured during a clash in the Shindand district of western Herat province, an official said on Wednesday.

AVA- Governor spokesman Jilani Farhad told Pajhwok Afghan News militants stormed the district centre aimed the capture of Shindand district.

He said the assailants engaged with security forces in a clash leave nine of them dead and six injured.

“Most of the insurgents came from Farah for the help in the attack. Among the dead were rebels from Farah and Herat’s Shindand,” he added.

According to Farhad Mullah Abdul Bari, the Taliban notorious commander, was among the injured. The clash happened in the Chashma Qala area of Shindand, he said.

The Taliban have not yet spoken about the incident.
