Taliban shadow governor killed in Baghlan
Afghan Defense Ministry on Wednesday confirmed that the Taliban's shadow governor for northern Baghlan province had been killed.

Afghan Voice Agency(AVA), The operation happened in Ahmadzayeeha village of restive Dand-e-Ghori district on Tuesday night, totally killing 22 militants, according to a statement from the ministry.

Earlier, a security source told 1TV that the hours-long operation, supported by the coailtion, totally killed 30 Taliban militants, including also three commanders.

The commanders were identified as Janbaz, Sher Alam and Akram.

The raid also resulted in the arrest of three Taliban commanders, seizure of a car, one kalashinkov and two pistols, according to MoD.

Taliban has yet to make comment on the report.

Baghlan is of strategic importance as Afghanistan’s major highway linking Kabul to north passes through it.
