Khamab District of Jawzjan Collapses to Taliban
The armed Taliban group has captured the Khamab district of Jawzjan province, local officials said.

AVA- Khamab chief district, Engineer Ahmad said the Uprising Forces have left the center of the district and 17 villages to Taliban without any clashes.

Eng. Ahmad noted Taliban have taken the control of the district’s building and seventeen villages.

According to the chief district, Afghan police and security forces have gathered in a village and warned the fall the district if the central government does not take any measures.

The Taliban has conducted an effective insurgency in Jawzjan despite the fact that the province is far from its traditional strongholds in the south and east.

Its presence in the province has forced the Afghan government to commit military resources that are needed in other provinces. In late March, the Taliban claimed that it contested seven of Jawzjan’s 11 districts.
