Two fasting Palestinian prisoners reject Gaza expulsion offer
Two Palestinian prisoners refused an Israeli offer to stop their hunger strike and be expelled to the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian rights group said Wednesday.
The two prisoners from the West Bank have been fasting for 51 days in protest of their administrative detention, a practice that allows Israel to hold Palestinian activists without a trial Xinhua reported.

The Palestinian Mujat Al-Quds organization, which defends the rights of prisoners, said it got a letter from the prisoners that they will continue with the fasting.

Earlier this month, Israel released a West Bank woman to Gaza in exchange for ending her 44-day hunger strike.

On Tuesday, Israel released an Islamic Jihad member, Khader Adnan, to his home in the West Bank after he went on a hunger strike for 66 days. Adnan suspended his fasting on Feb. 21 after reaching a deal with Israel to be freed when his initial term in prison ends in April.

About 1,500 Palestinians started a hunger strike Tuesday in protest of the administrative detention and to demand improvements of conditions in their jails.

Israel holds 309 Palestinians without disclosed charges but based on secret intelligence information.
