Afghanistan looks for further links with Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan's development is a model for other countries and Afghanistan hopes to engage in further cooperation with the country, head of the Common Military Policy and Human Resources Department of the Afghan Defence Ministry, Mohd Ghasem Wardak who is on a visit to Baku told journalists.

Azerbaijan and Afghanistan have helped each other even in the most difficult times, according to Wardak. 

"We fought together for independence. We believe that Azerbaijan can help Afghanistan, as we have common problems," Wardak said. 

The representative of Afghanistan's Defence Ministry expressed the hope that Azerbaijani peacekeepers will stay in Afghanistan after 2014 as part of an international cooperation.
