AVA- Ten people have been killed and some injured as a result of a blast in the funeral prayer of former district chief of Haskamena district in eastern Nangarhar province, a reliable source said on Sunday.
The blast targeted funeral ceremony for a former Haska Mina district governor in Farmi Adda area, Lal Muhammad Durrani, deputy head of provincial council, who attended the event said.
He said that the blast left many casualties.
Ataullah Khogyani, a spokesman for provincial governor, also confirmed the incident, saying the blast was triggered by a suicide bomb.
He said that at least 6 people were killed while 12 more were wounded in the bombing.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
