Tajikistan reportedly increases electricity supply to Afghanistan
In August, Tajikistan supplied some 162 million kWh of electricity to Afghanistan, which was 3.5 percent more than in July, according to Barqi Tojik (the state-owned utility responsible for generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity in Tajikistan).
 
Last month, Tajikistan reportedly generated 1.545 billion kWh of electricity, 2.0 percent fewer than in July. 

Over the past eight months of this year, Tajikistan has supplied 600 million kWh of electricity to Afghanistan. 

Meanwhile electricity consumption in Tajikistan last month was more than 1378 billion kWh, 2.8 percent fewer than in July. 

According to Tajik power holding, at the end of August 2013 the water level in the reservoir powering the Norak hydroelectric power plant (HPP) was reportedly 910.39 meters above sea level,7.13 meters higher when compared to July, 2013, 0.30 m higher than in the same period of the last year, and 5339 m above the “dead level” (857 m).
