During the “Island of Sin” exhibition and conference in Kabul, the memory and images of the Minab school martyrs became the main symbol of protest, sympathy and awakening of the young generation; where more than five thousand young people and teenagers expressed their anger and hatred towards crime, violence, colonialism and the killing of innocent children by performing symbolic programs.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: This cultural and protest event was held with a large presence of the young generation, and in its various sections, a symbolic and influential atmosphere was created to reflect concepts such as resistance, justice, awareness and defense of the oppressed. The organizers had tried to display the message of empathy with oppressed nations and protest against hegemonic policies through art, images and theatrical programs.
Carrying pictures of Minab martyrs and expressing solidarity with victims of violence
One of the most prominent parts of this exhibition was the presence of teenagers and children who held pictures of the martyrs of the Minab school in Iran, as well as a picture of the martyred granddaughter of Imam Khamenei (RA). These pictures turned the exhibition space into a scene of sadness, sympathy, and protest.
By carrying these pictures, the participants condemned the US attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the killing of innocent children, and considered these actions contrary to humanitarian principles, international laws, and moral values. A number of teenagers emphasized that they would not forget the crime against innocent children and students and would defend the honor and blood of the martyrs.
One of the children present at the exhibition, referring to the pictures of the martyred girls, said: “We will not forget that they killed innocent and innocent girls.” Some teenagers also chanted: “We will show everyone the true face of America.”
The symbolic ceremony of “Rami Jamarat”
Another part of the event was the symbolic ceremony of “Rami Jamarat”; where images of Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu and Jeffrey Epstein were placed on pillars and participants threw stones at these images, expressing their anger and disgust at what they called “symbols of oppression, occupation and corruption.”
Punching bags were also covered with images of these figures and young people hit them to express their protest against the policies of domination and crimes.
Youth’s response to the question about ending the cycle of oppression
In one of the interactive sections of the exhibition, visitors were asked: “What can stop the cycle of violence, domination, colonialism and exploitation?”
Participants wrote their answers on sheets of paper. Many of them considered the unity of the Islamic nation, the empathy of nations, resistance against the "Yazidis of the time", support for oppressed nations and the cessation of Islamic countries' dependence on the dominating powers as the way to break the cycle of oppression and exploitation.
Symbolic games and programs for children and adolescents
In another part of the exhibition, a symbolic game of "Snakes and Ladders" was designed, which depicted concepts such as falling into the trap of corruption and reaching the path of salvation. A special space was also provided for children to mark so that they could express their hatred for oppression and crime by targeting images of symbols of corruption and violence.
The purpose of the "Island of Sin" event
The officials of the Foundation of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) stated that the purpose of this program was to raise awareness, awaken the young generation and reflect the pain and suffering of oppressed nations. They emphasized that art, performances and cultural movements can be an eloquent language of resistance, awakening and seeking justice.
According to the organizers, the "Island of Sin" event was an attempt to create a space for dialogue and for the younger generation to pay attention to human issues, social justice, and defending the oppressed in the world.
