War does not serve the interests of either side / India and Pakistan should exercise restraint
With the start of India's attacks against Pakistan last Tuesday night and the promise of retaliatory attacks by Pakistan, international relations experts consider a military conflict between the two countries to be detrimental to the region and emphasize that experience has shown that war has not brought any benefits and has never had a winner. According to them, the current situation in the region is inflamed and sensitive, and any military conflict will have destructive consequences, not only for India and Pakistan, but also for neighboring countries, especially Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The start of India's missile attacks on Pakistani positions, which began last Tuesday night, has raised widespread concerns. Dr. Seyed Burhan Altafi, an international relations expert, accused India of being hasty in starting the conflict, saying, “The Kashmir issue was not big enough to lead to a full-scale war, and it was possible to resolve this issue through diplomacy.”
According to Altafi, “A war may begin with the firing of a few missiles from one side, but its end is unknown and can bring great calamities. Based on the experiences recorded throughout human history, war has never been won, and no powerful country has ever benefited from it; in the end, they have received nothing but regret and regret.”

Iran’s role in preventing the continuation of the war
Dr. Altafi also pointed to Iran’s possible role in mediation as one of the important countries in the West Asian region, saying, “Iran can play an effective role in preventing the escalation of conflict and tensions.”

He added: “Iran has been active in many areas over the past forty years, especially in the field of diplomacy and mediation between different countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria. If both sides have the will for peace, Iran can play a vital role and transform hatred into peaceful coexistence between the two countries.”
In his view, if Iran wants to use its diplomatic capabilities and mediate in cooperation with other regional and global actors, such as the United Nations or other major countries, it can be effective in reducing tensions. Of course, the success of these measures will directly depend on the political will of the parties and strategic developments at the regional and global levels.

What are the consequences of the war between India and Pakistan for Afghanistan?
Mr. Altafi clarified: If the mediations do not yield results and the war between India and Pakistan intensifies, Afghanistan will definitely be affected. These effects can manifest themselves in various political, security and economic dimensions.
Altafi believes that the increase in tensions between India and Pakistan may lead to political instability in Afghanistan, as the country is located in a sensitive geographical location between the two nuclear powers of the region, and in such circumstances, the possibility of foreign actors interfering in Afghan affairs increases. In addition, some political and paramilitary groups within Afghanistan may also exploit this situation for their own interests.
On the other hand, according to Altafi, Afghanistan is also at risk in terms of security due to its geographical proximity to the borders of Pakistan and India and the presence of various terrorist groups within the country. Intensifying conflicts in the two neighboring countries could transfer instability to Afghanistan and increase security threats such as terrorist attacks or border conflicts.
In addition to political and security losses, a war between India and Pakistan, according to Altafi, will also have negative economic effects on Afghanistan. These effects may include a decrease in trade levels, increased security costs, and even a decrease in international aid; Because many countries may focus on domestic issues or regional wars. Also, in such circumstances, the movement of goods and raw materials is disrupted. In general, any increase in tension in the region, especially between India and Pakistan, could face Afghanistan with broader challenges.

The aftershocks of the war between India and Pakistan are harmful to the region
Toryali Hemmat, an expert on international relations, also expressed concern in an interview with the Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) about the beginning of the conflict between India and Pakistan, emphasizing that the Afghan people have suffered from the war within the country for years and now they must also bear the losses caused by the war between India and Pakistan.
According to Mr. Hemmat, “The war is not only to the detriment of both sides, but also to the detriment of the neighbors and the entire region. We are Muslims, the Pakistani nation is also Muslim, and India also has a large Muslim population; in general, the war will be to the detriment of everyone.”
This international relations expert predicts that “the conflict between India and Pakistan will have a lot of negative effects on Afghanistan, because we share a 2,800-kilometer border with Pakistan, and the Pashtuns living on both sides of this border will definitely suffer from the consequences of the war.”
Toriali Hemmat noted: The war between India and Pakistan will harm our trade, economy, security, and everything. At the same time, he praised the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran to reduce tensions between the two countries and said: “The Islamic Republic of Iran has taken the right step and we appreciate this effort. If the Islamic Emirate can also take action in this regard and turn the atmosphere of war into an atmosphere of dialogue, it will be a more valuable work.”

It is worth noting that on Monday of this week, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, arrived in Islamabad at the head of a delegation to reduce tensions between India and Pakistan. However, before he could travel to India, India launched missile attacks on Pakistan, an unexpected move by New Delhi that many international observers see as a hasty move by the country to start a war.
