Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Dr. Fazal al-Hadi Wazin, a member of the World Alliance of Muslim Scholars, in an interview with AVA, emphasized the need for unity among the world's Muslims in the current critical situation, especially coherence and coordination towards the people of Palestine and Gaza, saying: "Based on the command of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet of Islam, unity and integrity are the basic and vital principles for Muslims against common enemies."
According to him, "The current regrettable situation of the world's Muslims and the existing division and dispersion are completely in contradiction with the texts of the Holy Quran, the Sunnah of the Messenger of God (PBUH) and the spirit of Islam. Such conditions have placed the Islamic Ummah on a very dangerous and fragile path; therefore, it is necessary to form a collective and considered reformist movement to save it from this pitiful situation."
Mr. Vazin noted that although the followers of Islam constitute the second largest population in the world after Christianity and enjoy good material resources, today they are completely passive and do not have a significant position in global equations. According to him, “Most Islamic countries are directly or indirectly under the domination and control of Western powers, especially the United States, and cannot act independently.”
He also emphasized: “Now is the time for Muslims to take the necessary measures for unity and integrity, based on the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH).” He added: “The anniversary of the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a valuable opportunity for Muslims to learn from the past and put an end to the abnormal political, security, economic and social situation in the Islamic world.”
Mr. Wazin, pointing out that there are enough elements of unity in the life of the Messenger of God (PBUH) for Muslims to choose it as a point of support and common axis, said: "It is very necessary to form a single axis from religious texts and values derived from the Quran and Sunnah so that Muslims do not seek points of disagreement."
Emphasizing that Islam is a comprehensive religion that responds to human needs in all circumstances and times, he added: "Muslims must rely on religious commonalities, think beyond sectarianism and religious prejudices, extend the hand of unity to each other as followers of the same religion, and remove divisive elements and corrupt individuals from among themselves."
The painful situation of the Islamic world and the suffering of Gaza Muslims in the shadow of internal differences
Mr. Wazin also stated: "The abnormal situation of Muslims around the world, especially in Gaza, where its people are currently burning in the fire of war and the usurping Zionist regime does not spare any cruelty or crime against them, is very worrying. The market for mass killing, genocide and destruction is hot in Gaza and the occupying regime intends to permanently occupy this land. The current situation requires Muslims to stop being divided and scattered and, by focusing on religious commonalities, join hands to defend their Muslim brothers so that the Palestinian people do not suffer any more."
Emphasizing that "one God, one Prophet, one Book and one Qibla are enough for the unity and harmony of Muslims," he added: "All Muslims, regardless of ethnic, racial, lineage and geographical interests, are considered a single body from the perspective of Islam. Common religious values have bound them together; Therefore, any violation of the principle of unity is in complete contradiction with the commands of the Quran, the Sunnah of the Prophet, and Islamic values.”
According to him, “Although most Muslims know that they are acting against the commands of the Quran and Sunnah and are trampling on human values in favor of their materialistic and personal desires, they still do not give up their stubbornness and, relying on blind religious and ethnic prejudices, do not hesitate to disagree and quarrel with others. These actions have caused serious damage to the Islamic world, and today, Muslims not only do not interact with each other, but sometimes they are also thirsty for each other’s blood.”
He added: “While Muslims claim that the Prophet (PBUH) is the leader of the entire Islamic nation and that the Holy Quran is their guide to life, sometimes they step on all these commonalities and prefer personal interests over public interests, and engage in destructive and devastating disputes.”
Mr. Wazin emphasized: “If Muslims put aside minor jurisprudential and religious differences, the grounds for harmony and unity will be provided, and in critical situations, they will adopt unified positions on the issues of the Islamic world, especially the issue of Gaza and Palestine.”
Stating that “the fateful decision regarding the Islamic world depends on the unity of the Islamic Ummah,” he said: “To strengthen the principle of unity and integrity of Muslims, governments, people, elites, including scholars and scientists, as well as the media, have a responsibility to focus on what brings Muslims closer to each other and to put aside the factors of difference and division that ultimately lead to the weakening of the Islamic Ummah.”
He concluded by expressing his hope: “Muslims will use the opportunity of Unity Week to review their performance and take practical and effective steps towards achieving true unity, focusing on Islamic and human commonalities, and once again demonstrate the glory and greatness of Islam to the world.”
