Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: As October 7th approaches, the anniversary of the US, NATO and its allies' occupation attack on Afghanistan in 2001, today (Tuesday, October 7), political experts emphasized in an interview with Ava News Agency that the US military presence in Afghanistan has led the country to political instability and insecurity, and after twenty years, Washington was forced to withdraw from Afghanistan.
Sayed Zia Hosseini, spokesman for the High Commission of Shiites and an expert on political affairs, stated in an interview with Ava: Although the US and NATO attack on Afghanistan in 2001 led to the fall of the first era of the Islamic Emirate and the beginning of the reconstruction of infrastructure, along with some positive developments such as the establishment of a new education system and the relative expansion of civil liberties, it also brought problems such as widespread corruption, the government's complete dependence on foreign aid, and increased insecurity in the country.
He added: "The presence of US and NATO forces in Afghanistan brought limited benefits to some, but overall it failed to bring lasting stability and real independence to the Afghan people."
Referring to the performance of foreign forces, Hosseini said: During military operations, numerous cases of human rights violations, bombing of residential areas, attacks on civilians, and arbitrary detentions in prisons such as Bagram occurred, many of which remained unaccounted for. He emphasized that the then Afghan government was also content with expressing regret and receiving small compensation for these violations and covered up these crimes.
Referring to the anniversary of the Hamas Mujahideen attack on the occupied territories on October 7, the spokesman for the Shiite Supreme Commission continued: This attack was able to once again draw the attention of the world public opinion to the situation of the people of Gaza and the atrocities of the Zionist regime. According to him, although this attack resulted in heavy civilian casualties, it broke the global silence against Israel’s repressive policies.
Hosseini noted that the long-term consequences of the October 7 Hamas attack depend on international reactions and future developments. He added: “Just as the US military occupation of Afghanistan failed to bring political legitimacy, the Zionist regime will also face deep challenges by continuing its occupation and repressive policies against the resistance of the Palestinian people.”
He also emphasized: If the resistance of the Palestinian people continues and geopolitical changes occur in the region, the possibility of the Israeli regime’s occupation project failing is very high; something that the passage of time will prove.
Mohammad Juma Ahmadi, a university professor and political affairs expert, also stated in an interview with Ava’s correspondent on the same subject: America and its international partners entered Afghanistan in 2001 with the slogan of creating prosperity, comfort, and sovereignty based on the people’s votes, but their behavior and performance in the past two decades showed that these promises were merely propaganda.
He added: “The way they withdrew from Afghanistan and the way they interacted with the people, especially after 2014, showed that not only were their alleged goals not achieved, but now American and European leaders themselves are admitting defeat in Afghanistan.”
Ahmadi emphasized: The crimes and violations of the US and NATO military forces in Afghanistan must be investigated and prosecuted in domestic courts, their respective countries, as well as in international courts, including The Hague.
In another part of his speech, this political expert, referring to the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, said: This historic action was taken with the aim of bringing the Palestinian issue out of isolation and drawing the world's attention to the deplorable situation of the people of Gaza and Palestine.
According to him, the Israeli regime is taking a path of oppression and aggression by continuing the occupation, destroying the Gaza Strip, and encroaching on other regions, including Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and even Iran and Qatar; but this process will never lead to victory.
In conclusion, Mohammad Juma Ahmadi noted: "Every nation has the right to live freely in its land, and any force that encroaches on the land of others will eventually be expelled from there with shame and defeat."
