Taliban Shadow Governor For Takhar Killed In U.S Air Strike

Tayib was a target of interest since 2011 and he was responsible for the targeting of U.S service members in Afghanistan.


Afghan Voice Agency(AVA), United States Forces confirmed in a statement that Quari Tayib the Taliban shadow governor for Takhar province was killed in an airstrike in Archi district of Kunduz province last week.

According to the statement Tayib was a target of interest since 2011 and he was responsible for the targeting of U.S service members in Afghanistan.

Tayib was targeted in a compound used for insurgents in the area, the statement added.

Eight other Taliban insurgents were killed in the strike, the statement said.

According to the statement there were no civilian casualties in the strike.
