Daesh Leader Killed in Special Forces Operation in Nangarhar

Presidential Palace confirms the death of the leader of Daesh in Afghanistan and says operation took place two weeks ago.


Afghan Voice Agency(AVA), The leader of Daesh in Afghanistan, Abdul Hasib, has been killed in an operation by special forces in eastern Nangarhar province, the Presidential Palace said in a statement late Sunday.

“He was responsible for ordering the attack on the 400 bed hospital in Kabul, he kidnapped girls, and beheaded elders in front of their families,” the statement said.

“The National Unity Government (NUG) has a strong commitment to annihilate terrorist groups in the country and provide a peaceful environment to the Afghan residents,” it said.

It said that the operation was carried out about 11 days ago in Nangarhar but “government wanted to confirm the news and be sure about his death,” before releasing details.

The statement said that government forces will continue to carry out operations until it completely destroys the group.
