Dostum says suicide attack in Kabul was an attack on all coalition members
The first vice president General Abdul Rashid Dostum condemned Thursday’s suicide attack on supporters of Balkh governor Ata Mohammad Noor, calling it an attack on all members of the new coalition for salvation of Afghanistan.

AVA- Dostum issued a statement in the aftermath of the suicide attack and said the incident that took place close to such an important gathering raises questions regarding the negligence of the security institutions.

He said the government provides better security to certain gatherings and the security officials should provide answers to Thursday’s attack.

Gen. Dostum further added that the attack near the hotel in Kabul took place amid an ongoing gathering in support of Ata Mohammad Noor, insisting that the attack was not only against his supporters but it was an attack on all members of the coalition for salvation of Afghanistan.

The governor of Balkh and chief executive of Jamiat-e-Islami Ata Mohammad Noor said Thursday’s attack was similar to the ones carried out by certain circles in the government in the past, including the attack on Salim Izadyar’s funeral.

Noor said they do not expect the government will launch any investigation into the incident and nor they expect any outcome from such investigations.

He promised that the new coalition and its political activities will be taken forward despite such attempts.
