Senior ISIS leaders among 14 killed in Nangarhar airstrikes
At least fourteen militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed in an airstrike conducted in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

AVA- The provincial government media office issued a statement on Saturday afternoon and said the airstrike was carried out in the vicinity of Achin district.

The statement further added that the target of the airstrike apparently was senior ISIS leaders who were killed in the airstrike

The militants were targeted in the vicinity of Margha area of Mamand Dara of Achin district, the statement said, adding that the two ISIS leaders killed in the raid have been identified as Asadullah Orakzai and Shakirullah Kunari.

The anti-government armed militant groups including the ISIS militants have not commented regarding the report so far.

Nangarhar is among the relatively calm provinces however the Taliban and ISIS militants have increased their insurgency activities in some its remote parts during the recent years.

This comes as the military officials said Saturday that the US forces based in Afghanistan conducted a new airstrike on ISIS militants in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, wiping out of their hideouts in this province.

The officials further added at least 13 militant were killed as a result of the airstrike conducted in the vicinity of Haska Mina district.

The 201st Silab Corps officials in the East confirmed that the hideout of the terror group was wipedout and at least 13 militants were killed.
