Afghanistan rejects Pakistan's proposal over military coordination

Afghan Voice Agency(AVA) , 17 Dec 2017 - 21:05

Afghanistan rejected Pakistan’s proposal of presence of a general in each other’s defense ministries for better military coordination.

AVA- Dawlat Waziri, spokesperson for Afghanistan defense ministry, said that the request was made by Pakistani officials in yesterday’s military talks between two countries and foreign officials in Kabul.

“We certainly don’t want a Pakistani to be in our defense ministry and we are not sending our delegate there,” he added.

Waziri added that Afghanistan only agreed to reopen coordination centers alongside the border that were active in in the past in Torkham of Nangarhar and in Spinboldak of Kandahar.
