Afghanistan welcomes Trump's tough tweet about Pakistan

Afghan Voice Agency(AVA) , 2 Jan 2018 - 10:48

Afghan ambassador to the United States has welcomed President Donald Trump's first tweet of 2018 that threatened to cut aid to Pakistan.

AVA- In his tweet on Monday, Trump said: “The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing by lies and deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools. They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!”

Hamdullah Mohib, Afghanistan’s ambassador to U.S., welcomed the tweet as a “promising message to Afghans.”

“President Donald Trump’s first tweet of 2018. A promising message to Afghans who have suffered at the hands of terrorists based in Pakistan for far too long,” the envoy said on twitter.
