Taliban lost chance for peace: Kabul

Afghan Voice Agency(AVA) , 30 Jan 2018 - 15:47

Taliban has lost chance for peace, Afghan government said Tuesday.

Shah Hussain Murtazai, acting spokesman of President Ashraf Ghani, said this following deadly attacks by the militant groups that targeted also many civilians in the county.
It comes after U.S. President Donald Trump expressed opposition to talks with the Taliban, who has repeatedly rejected the offer.
"The Taliban have crossed a red line and lost the chance for peace,” Murtazawi said. “We have to look for peace on the battlefield. They have to be marginalized.
Earlier, Trump condemning recent attacks in Afghanistan said that there would be no talks with the Taliban "right now." He vowed to "finish what we have to finish."
Taliban has reacted to Trump's comments.
"Let us know when you’re ready to talk to discuss your exit,” Taliban tweeted through the group's media account. “Soon is better before it becomes very ugly for you in Afghanistan. You know how to reach us through our office in Doha”
