Karzai strongly reacts at deadly airstrike in Kunduz province
The former Afghan President Hamid Karzai reacted at a deadly airstrike in northern Kunduz province as dozens of people are feared dead amid reports both the Taliban and ordinary civilians have lost their lives in the raid.
AVA- According to an official statement, the Former President Hamid Karzai condemned the airstrike in strongest words.
The statement further added that the Former President called attacks on houses, seminaries, and hospitals under the context of fight against terrorism, as a move agianst the humanity and all human and Islamic principles.
He urged all parties involved in the conflict to strictly pay attention to the safety of the ordinary civilians and respect the places considered as sacred and Islamic.
This comes as conflicting reports still emerge regarding the massive civilian casualties in the airstrike although the Afghan defense officials say the high ranking Taliban leaders were targeted in the airstrike.
The Ministry of Defense spokesman Gen. Mohammad Radmanish claims that at least twenty Taliban insurgents were killed in the airstrike.
However, reports indicate that almost seventy people have been killed in the raid including several seminary students while dozens of others have been wounded.
The military officials in the North had earlier said several high ranking officials from Quetta Council had gathered to plan the future attacks but new reports indicate that around two thousand people were present when the airstrike took place.
