Afghan MMA Fighter Badakhsi Loses By Knockout

Afghan Voice Agency(AVA) , 6 May 2018 - 11:32

Afghan Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Abdul Azim Badakhshi has lost the fight to his Russian rival Denis Kanakov in the first round of an Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB) match in Moscow on Saturday.

With this loss, Badakhshi’s record is now 8 wins and 2 losses, and Kakanov’s record improves to 9 wins and 1 loss. Before this, Kakanov on August 26, 2017 had defeated Ahmad Wali Hotak, another Afghan MMA fighter.
Apparently, Kanakov’s victory over two Afghans back to back did not sit well with another popular Afghan MMA fighter, Baz Mohammad Mubariz.
Mubariz posted a public challenge to the Kakanov, so he can avenge the losses of his Badakhshi and Hotak.
“I want to take revenge of my two Afghan brothers. I want to show you the real fight on that ACB’s cage and I am waiting for your answer Denis Kanakov,” Mubariz posted the public challenge on his own Facebook in Farsi.
Kakanov said that he doesn’t understand Farsi and Mubariz should challenge him in Russian. Mubariz did later post his challenge in Russian, and he also wrote that he had contacted the ACB organization requesting a fight against Kakanov.
He said he is waiting for an answer from them.
After the fight, Badakhshi has apologized to his fans for his loss.
