Casualties drop by half last month compared to June 2017
Civilian's casualties have dropped by 100 percent in June 2018 compared to June 2017.
The Civilian Protection Advocacy Group (CPAG) says 183 people have been killed and 337 others injured in 22 provinces of Afghanistan last month.
But in June 2017, 1043 people were killed and injured in 16 provinces of Afghanistan showing almost half decline in the number of casualties.
Last month government and the Taliban have ceasefire during three days of Eid-ul-Fitr as a result there was peace in almost all over the country.
Only Nangarhar province witnessed suicide blast from Daesh rebels in which some civilians were killed and injured.
According to CPAG most of casualties happened in Nangarhar province where 46 civilians were killed and 130 others injured.
In addition, Kabul and Herat were the other provinces where most of the casualties happened.
Although collection of exact number of casualties was not an easy task but Aziz Ahmad, head of the CPAG said, they strived to get accurate facts and figures of casualties with the help of their regional colleagues.
Statistics of the CPAG showed that most of the casualties resulted by the suicide bombings which claimed by the Daesh. As many as 70 civilians were killed and 170 others injured in Daesh attacks last month.
Also during June 2017, most of the casualties were inflicted by the attacks from Daesh.
After Daesh, 80 civilians were killed and 170 others injured from unknown armed men and addresses such landmine, mortar shell and rocket attacks. It is worth mentioning that roadside bombs are often exploded under the Taliban controlled areas and the victims are civilians.
In addition, civilians have been targeted and displaced as a result of security forces and the Taliban clashes.
According to CPAG US forces also inflicted casualties on civilians last month. Six civilians were killed and one injured in the US forces airstrike in the Want Wegal district of Nuristan last month.
CPAG again request the armed groups to respect the rules of war and pay attention to the protection of civilians.
