Afghan Higher Education Ministry rejects reports regarding gender segregation in the universities of Afghanistan

AVA- This comes as reports emerged earlier suggesting that the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan is planning to implement gender segregation in universities in the new educational year and will organize separate classes for the male and female students.
However, a spokesman for the Ministry of Higher Education, Zia Sahil said the ministry has not made any decision regarding gender segregation in the universities of the country, emphasizing that rumors in this regard all baseless.
In regards to the announcement of the university entrance test results, Kankor, Sahil said the first top scorers of the exams will be honored during a special program today.
The Ministry of Higher Education released the university entrance test (Kankor) results last week.
According to the Ministry of Higher Education, at least 6,051 students have qualified for the enrollment to governmental higher education institutions, 12,498 others have qualified for the governmental semi-higher education institutions, while 66,803 others would be enrolled with the private higher education institutions.
The Ministry of Higher Education says Tehmina daughter of Abdul Saboor has secured the first position by securing 353 marks.
Mohammad Emauddin from Herat has secured the second position while Mukhtar has secured the third position.
Similarly, Mohamamd Hadi son of Dost Mohammad has secured the fourth position and Safdar son of Mohammad Naeem has secured the fifth position.
